Life After Duke Football: An Investigation into the Student Athlete Employment Process

Being a collegiate athlete is hard, to say the least.It requires going to classes, practices, and games, all while doing your schoolwork, maintaining a good GPA, and attempting to have a social life; if you’re lucky, you have free time after all of that.However, apart from the less than 2% of football players who will get drafted to the NFL, most would agree that at the end of the day the primary reason student athletes are at college is to get an education and ultimately a job.Given how difficult it is for student athletes to load-balance, we wanted to highlight the process of finding a job after graduation for these incredible people.

To accomplish this task, we interviewed three unique, but relevant perspectives related to Duke Football to share what the key factors are to finding a job as a student athlete.In addition, we wanted to explore whether these athletes’ connection to football, a sport that takes up an enormous amount of their time, remains intact, and if so in what form.
